About the Role
The Value Stream Manager I (Production Manager) is responsible for the overall leadership and performance of a manufacturing value stream. This role ensures safe operations, profitable growth, quality improvement, and customer satisfaction by applying the Parker Lean System and Win Strategy. The position oversees daily operations while building a high-performing workforce focused on continuous improvement and operational excellence.
This role is ideal for experienced manufacturing leaders who thrive in fast-paced environments and enjoy developing teams, improving processes, and owning business results.
Key Responsibilities
Value Stream Leadership & Operations

Lead day-to-day manufacturing operations to meet daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual goals

Establish manufacturing priorities, coordinate off-shift activities, and support on-time order shipments

Promote continuous product flow and implement pull systems where applicable

Level workload to optimize efficiency and throughput
People Leadership & Development

Develop and manage Production Supervisors, team leads, and associates

Support hiring, performance evaluations, and employee development
-
Ensure effective cross-training and backup coverage across the value stream

Foster a positive, team-oriented culture focused on accountability and continuous improvement
Financial & Business Ownership

Own value stream P&L, including cost analysis, margins, PPV goals, and productivity metrics

Support budget planning, capital planning, and resource allocation

Drive cost reduction, inventory reduction, and lead-time improvements
Continuous Improvement & Lean Manufacturing

Lead Lean initiatives using Parker Lean System, PDCA, and Win Strategy

Implement POP initiatives and long-term manufacturing strategies

Ensure standardized work, countermeasures, and safety compliance are followed

Utilize Tracking Centers and Team Improvement Boards (TIB) to ensure visibility and accountability

Partner with staff leadership to develop and execute future-state value stream plans
Qualifications
Education & Experience
-
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
-
3–5 years of progressive leadership experience managing teams and complex operations
-
Previous P&L ownership experience preferred

Background in manufacturing, accounting, inventory control, human resources, and strategic planning
