The Value Stream Manager I oversees end-to-end performance of a value stream within Parker Aerospace’s Troy, Indiana facility. This leader plays a pivotal role in driving operational excellence by implementing Lean principles, optimizing workflow, and empowering teams to meet production, safety, and quality goals.

You’ll guide Production Supervisors, Team Leads, and Associates, ensuring strong communication, efficient processes, and a culture of continuous improvement. Through strategic planning and daily leadership, you will help shape the future state of production while supporting a safe, inclusive, and engaged workplace.


Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development

  • Supervise Production Supervisors, Team Leads, and Associates across the value stream

  • Provide coaching, performance assessments, and workforce development

  • Foster a positive, solutions-focused work culture through regular team meetings

  • Promote employee empowerment, problem-solving, and cross-training initiatives

Operational Excellence & Lean Implementation

  • Lead Lean practices to improve quality, reduce waste, and increase productivity

  • Create and maintain continuous product flow and pull systems

  • Ensure standardized work processes are followed and updated

  • Use PDCA cycles, Team Improvement Boards, and Tracking Centers to drive results

Strategic & Financial Oversight

  • Own the value stream P&L, including cost controls, margin analysis, and productivity goals

  • Participate in budget planning, capital strategy, staffing decisions, and long-term manufacturing initiatives

  • Develop and execute future-state value stream maps and implementation plans

Daily Operations Management

  • Oversee scheduling, supply chain coordination, and production priorities

  • Support safe daily operations across shifts and partner with off-shift leaders

  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements

  • Resolve problems through root-cause analysis and collaborative problem-solving


Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred

  • 3–5 years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing or related fields

  • Previous experience with P&L ownership preferred

  • Experience with Lean process improvement strongly preferred

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team-building skills

  • Ability to evaluate and develop employee capabilities

  • Skilled in cross-functional collaboration and organizational communication

  • Proficient in strategic planning, problem-solving, and decision making

  • Knowledge of accounting practices, inventory control, and manufacturing processes

  • Strong PC and software skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
