Rehab Services Coordinator

The Rehab Services Coordinator plays an essential role in managing the administrative and patient support functions within the Rehab Department. This position ensures the accuracy of insurance authorizations, supports clinical staff, and assists patients in a compassionate and professional manner. Candidates should be proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently while maintaining a strong focus on patient safety and care quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate rehabilitation services and administrative tasks to support patient care.

• Manage insurance authorization processes to ensure timely approval of services.

• Maintain accurate patient and departmental records.

• Assist with transporting patients and handling equipment as needed.

• Communicate effectively with staff, patients, families, and insurance providers.

• Support day-to-day operations in the Rehab Department by addressing challenges promptly and efficiently.

• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety procedures, and confidentiality requirements.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; post-high school healthcare-related degree or certification preferred.

• Licensure/Certification: Current BLS certification required.

• Experience: Insurance authorization experience preferred.

• Skills & Traits: Strong attention to detail, effective communication, ability to work independently, and quick decision-making skills.

• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and transport patients, move equipment, and work in close quarters. Frequent standing, sitting, stooping, and bending required. Must have normal (or corrected) vision and hearing.
