Qualified Medication Aide

The QMA/CMA is responsible for safely administering prescribed medications, documenting administration, and assisting residents with daily living activities. This role requires adherence to state regulations, facility policies, and a commitment to providing compassionate, resident-centered care.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, administer, and document prescribed medications under the supervision of a licensed nurse

• Follow the five rights of medication administration within the scope of your certification

• Assist residents with activities of daily living as needed

• Properly label, store, receive, and dispose of medications per policy

• Maintain accurate and timely medication charting

• Collaborate with the Nurse Supervisor/Charge Nurse for medication management and resident care

Qualifications

• Certified as a QMA or CMA in Indiana

• Active CNA certification in good standing with the state

• 0–1 years of relevant experience preferred
