Program Assistant

About the Role

The Program Assistant plays an important role in the day-to-day operations of William Tell Elementary School by providing support to classrooms, students, and school programs. This position helps create a positive, organized, and welcoming environment where students can learn and grow.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a school setting, has strong organizational skills, and wants to make a meaningful impact in Perry County.

Key Responsibilities

• Support teachers and staff with daily classroom and program needs

• Assist with student supervision during arrival, dismissal, lunch, recess, or activities

• Provide clerical and organizational support, including copying, filing, and data entry

• Help prepare materials for lessons, activities, and school programs

• Assist with communication between staff, students, and families as needed

• Support school events, programs, and activities

• Maintain confidentiality of student and school information

• Follow school policies, procedures, and safety guidelines

• Perform additional duties as assigned to support school operations

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required

• Experience working with children or in a school setting is helpful

• Strong organizational and communication skills

• Dependable, punctual, and detail-oriented

• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and students

• Positive attitude and willingness to support a team-focused environment

Physical & Work Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the school day

• Ability to assist students and handle classroom materials

• Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
