About the Role

The President & CEO provides executive leadership for Perry County Memorial Hospital, ensuring excellence across all care settings while improving the health and well-being of the Perry County community. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO sets strategic direction, drives organizational performance, and serves as a trusted advisor on healthcare trends, system needs, and growth opportunities.

This role partners closely with the Deaconess Health System Executive Team to advance system-wide priorities, strengthen operational and clinical performance, and foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the organization in providing high-quality healthcare services with a primary emphasis on patient care, as directed and approved by the Board of Directors

  • Establish and execute strategic priorities aligned with Board-approved goals and health system objectives

  • Develop and implement policies and programs that promote excellence in patient care across all settings

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the Board by providing insight into organizational needs, healthcare trends, and market dynamics

  • Stay current on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in healthcare delivery

  • Collaborate with the Executive Team to develop and execute plans for organizational growth and sustainability

  • Lead system growth initiatives, including partnerships, joint ventures, and managed care strategies

  • Coach, mentor, and develop senior leaders to drive performance, accountability, and engagement

  • Promote a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement

Qualifications

Education

  • Master’s degree required

  • Health Care Administration or related field preferred

Experience

  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience as a Vice President and/or Chief Operations Officer within a health system required

  • Demonstrated responsibility for operations, strategic planning, and facilities management

  • Experience with joint ventures, negotiations, team building, and managed care required
