Pre-Production Planning Generalist

The Program Manager will oversee all pre-production launch activities, from initial drawing release through high-volume production trials, ensuring an on-time start of production. This role is highly administrative and project-management focused, requiring coordination across multiple departments, vendors, and international stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of production preparation for new model launches using the gate system and master schedule.

• Communicate progress to customers with standardized reporting tools.

• Coordinate internal departments’ activities to meet pre-production goals.

• Liaise with the Japanese parent company on preparation status and requirements.

• Conduct regular meetings with stakeholders to provide program updates.

• Receive and process pre-production trial orders.

• Propose, negotiate, and order approved packaging.

• Oversee raw material and component vendor readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent work experience considered.

• Familiarity with Toyota Production System principles.

• Proven ability to manage complex projects.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to set priorities and achieve goals.

• Proficiency with ToyotaSupplier.com databases (SPIMS, VPACS, Lead Time Surveys, Initial Prep Surveys, Trial Prep Surveys).

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
