About the Role

As a Medical Receptionist, you will be the face of the clinic—greeting patients, managing front desk operations, and supporting clinical staff to ensure smooth day-to-day workflows. This role requires professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment with frequent interruptions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist patients, families, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner

  • Answer and direct phone calls and respond to inquiries accurately

  • Schedule appointments and manage patient check-in and check-out processes

  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation

  • Use clinic computer systems and office equipment efficiently

  • Handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail

  • Communicate effectively with clinical staff and hospital personnel

  • Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold clinic standards

  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and professional demeanor at all times

Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Medical receptionist training preferred

Experience

  • Experience in a clinical setting, medical office, or clinic preferred

  • Computer proficiency required

Licensure/Certification

  • None required

Mental & Physical Requirements

  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions

  • Strong concentration, accuracy, and attention to detail

  • Ability to handle pressure, frequent interruptions, and public interaction

  • Courtesy, tact, and professionalism when dealing with patients and staff

  • Ability to make occasional independent decisions

  • Ability to lift 20 pounds or more

  • Manual dexterity, eye/hand coordination, and ability to distinguish letters and symbols

  • Ability to operate office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, and calculators

  • Normal vision range and corrected hearing within normal limits

  • Ability to work under varying conditions and occasionally irregular hours
