Med/Surg. Staff RN

As a Med/Surg. Staff RN at Perry County Memorial Hospital in Tell City, Indiana, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering direct patient care in a fast-paced medical-surgical unit. Your primary focus will be monitoring patients, administering medications, and collaborating with healthcare teams to ensure safe, effective treatment during the 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM shift. This position is ideal for a licensed RN who thrives in patient-centered care and is capable of making informed, independent decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in the medical-surgical unit.

• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.

• Monitor patient progress and document changes in condition or response to care.

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to implement care plans.

• Respond quickly and effectively in emergency situations.

• Use proper body mechanics and safety practices for lifting and transferring patients.

• Maintain compliance with hospital protocols, BLS/CPR certification, and regulatory standards.

Qualifications
We’re looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana.

• Current certification in BLS/CPR.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to make independent clinical decisions.

• Resilience and physical stamina to work under pressure, including lifting and patient transfers.

• Ability to remain resourceful and responsive in emergency situations.
