Med/Surg & ICU Nursing Supervisor

About the Role

Perry County Memorial Hospital is looking for an experienced and motivated Registered Nurse to serve as a Med/Surg & ICU Nursing Supervisor. This role provides hands-on leadership and oversight of patient care operations across the Medical/Surgical and Intensive Care units while ensuring high standards of clinical quality, safety, and team support.

The Nursing Supervisor plays a key role in decision-making related to patient care, staff coordination, and unit operations during assigned shifts, serving as a clinical resource and leader for nursing staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and supervision for nursing staff in Med/Surg and ICU units

• Support safe, high-quality patient care and effective unit operations

• Make independent clinical and management decisions related to patient care

• Serve as a clinical resource and support for nursing staff

• Assist with staffing coordination and workflow oversight during shifts

• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and standards of care

• Utilize sound judgment and strong communication skills in fast-paced and high-acuity situations

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Indiana

• Current BLS certification required

• ACLS, PALS, and NRP certification required or must be obtained within one year of hire

Experience

• Two (2) years of RN clinical experience preferred

• Prior supervisory or leadership experience desired

Physical & Mental Requirements

• Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail

• Capability to make management and clinical decisions under pressure

• Ability to stand or sit for extended periods

• Occasional physical exertion, including lifting and transferring patients using proper body mechanics

• Stamina to work effectively in demanding and fast-paced healthcare environments
