Mechanical Maintenance

As a Mechanical Maintenance Technician at Waupaca Foundry in Tell City, Indiana, you’ll be responsible for responding to equipment breakdowns, performing preventative maintenance, and supporting repairs and installations that keep operations running smoothly. This hands-on role is ideal for skilled trades professionals who take pride in ensuring equipment reliability and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform breakdown response, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment

• Make necessary machine adjustments to ensure optimal performance

• Support fabrication, machine repair, installation, and basic construction work as needed

• Comply with all safety policies, complete safety training, and contribute to a clean, organized work environment through participation in the 6-S program

• Utilize process control documents and departmental work instructions

• Work independently on assigned shift (2nd or 3rd shift)

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required

• Training, experience, or education in mechanical maintenance or related field (or actively pursuing)

• Strong skills in:

  • Welding

  • Hydraulics and pneumatics

  • Fabrication and fasteners

  • Blueprint reading

  • Power transmission and machine repair

• Solid work history, problem-solving abilities, and good communication skills

• Dependable, responsible, and positive work attitude

• Ability to adapt to flexible schedules and work without direct supervision
