Waupaca Foundry is a leader in iron casting manufacturing and industrial innovation. We are currently hiring a Mechanical Maintenance Technician for our Tell City, IN facility. In this role, you’ll ensure our facility remains operational and efficient by performing repairs, adjustments, and preventative maintenance on a wide range of production equipment.

About the Role:
As a Mechanical Maintenance Technician, you will respond to equipment breakdowns, carry out scheduled maintenance, and work on tasks such as welding, fabrication, and machine repair. You’ll play a key part in supporting plant uptime while ensuring a safe and productive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Complete required safety training and comply with all safety procedures

• Participate in Waupaca Foundry’s 6-S Program (cleanliness and organization)

• Use process control documents and Departmental Work Instructions (DWIs)

• Perform mechanical adjustments to keep machines running at optimal performance

• Execute a variety of maintenance tasks, including welding, fabrication, basic construction, and equipment installations

• Respond quickly to breakdowns and perform diagnostic troubleshooting

• Maintain organized work areas and follow proper housekeeping procedures

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required

• Education, experience, or training in industrial maintenance or related technical field preferred

• Willingness to work 2nd or 3rd shift

• Reliable with a positive attitude and strong problem-solving skills

• Ability to work independently and adapt to flexible schedules

• Proficient in:

  • Welding

  • Hydraulics & pneumatics

  • Fabrication & fasteners

  • Blueprint reading

  • Power transmission and machine repair
