Manager Trainee

The Manager in Training (MIT) position is designed to prepare you for advancement into Retail Store Management. In this transitional role, you’ll learn the skills needed to lead a team, deliver WOW! Customer Service, and oversee store operations. With a structured training plan and hands-on assignments, MITs can progress into management within 8–12 weeks, depending on prior experience and performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead by example, supporting team performance and customer satisfaction.

• Learn to manage store operations, staffing, inventory, and sales goals.

• Develop communication and leadership skills to motivate team members.

• Gain experience with Profit & Loss (P&L) statements and operational planning.

• Deliver excellent customer service and resolve concerns proactively.

• Complete management training programs and live AutoZone’s culture.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of prior retail management or supervisory experience required.

• Must be available for a flexible schedule including mornings, nights, weekends, and overtime.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

• Bilingual communication (English/Spanish) is a plus.

• Previous automotive retail experience or P&L analysis is helpful.
