The Manager in Training (MIT) position is designed to prepare you for advancement into Retail Store Management. In this transitional role, you’ll learn the skills needed to lead a team, deliver WOW! Customer Service, and oversee store operations. With a structured training plan and hands-on assignments, MITs can progress into management within 8–12 weeks, depending on prior experience and performance.
Key Responsibilities

Lead by example, supporting team performance and customer satisfaction.

Learn to manage store operations, staffing, inventory, and sales goals.

Develop communication and leadership skills to motivate team members.

Gain experience with Profit & Loss (P&L) statements and operational planning.

Deliver excellent customer service and resolve concerns proactively.

Complete management training programs and live AutoZone’s culture.
Qualifications
-
1–2 years of prior retail management or supervisory experience required.

Must be available for a flexible schedule including mornings, nights, weekends, and overtime.

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Bilingual communication (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Previous automotive retail experience or P&L analysis is helpful.
