About the Role
As a Maintenance Foreman, you will oversee the repair and preventative maintenance needs of a full-service correctional facility, supporting plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and grounds operations. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with leadership responsibilities, including supervising staff and incarcerated individuals when needed.
The Maintenance Foreman plays a key role in maintaining safe, secure, and functional facilities while delivering excellent customer service and following best security and safety practices. Advancement opportunities are available for those interested in moving into higher-level supervisory roles.
Key Responsibilities

Solicit and review cost estimates and proposals

Estimate project costs, materials, and labor hours

Oversee and participate in preventative maintenance and facility repairs

Maintain accountability of tools, materials, equipment, and vehicles
-
Ensure compliance with all safety, security, and protective requirements
-
Recruit, onboard, train, and develop employees
-
Set expectations, monitor performance, and provide ongoing feedback
-
Ensure work meets quality standards, deadlines, and proper procedures
-
Maintain regular, on-site attendance at assigned work locations
Qualifications
-
Broad knowledge of electrical systems, plumbing, carpentry, and painting trades

Ability to plan, schedule, and supervise job sites

Ability to fill in for other foremen to ensure continuity of operations

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and technical documents
-
Strong knowledge of tools, materials, and equipment used across multiple trades
-
Knowledge of OSHA standards, MSDS, occupational hazards, and safety precautions
-
Ability to estimate project proposals, including labor, materials, and costs

Ability to work outdoors and endure inclement weather

Strong leadership skills, including delegation, coaching, and performance management

Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
Licensure Requirement

Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License
Supervisory Responsibilities

May serve as team lead for an assigned work group

Supervises incarcerated individuals and requires sound judgment and professionalism
Salary

Starting salary: $42,900, with potential adjustments based on education and experience
