In this role, you will plan and administer human resources policies and programs while serving as a trusted advisor to leadership and employees. This position balances compliance, strategy, and people-centered leadership in a locally rooted company with the backing and career opportunities of a national organization.


Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with employment laws, regulations, and government reporting requirements

  • Recruit, interview, and select candidates for key positions

  • Plan and conduct new employee orientation to promote engagement and alignment with company goals

  • Maintain employee records related to benefits, personnel actions, and required reporting

  • Coordinate management training on interviewing, hiring, discipline, safety, and harassment prevention

  • Advise leadership on employee relations matters and conflict resolution

  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies, programs, and procedures

  • Administer performance review and salary administration programs to ensure fairness and consistency

  • Oversee employee benefits programs including leave, insurance, and employee assistance

  • Conduct wage surveys to ensure competitive compensation practices

  • Prepare and manage the HR operations budget

  • Conduct exit interviews and analyze trends related to turnover and absenteeism

  • Represent the company in personnel-related hearings and investigations

  • Prepare reports and recommend strategies to improve employee retention and engagement


Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university, or

  • Five (5) years of related experience and/or training, or

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of human resources principles, employment law, and best practices

  • Ability to read and interpret legal documents, financial reports, and technical materials

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentations to leadership

  • Ability to analyze data, define problems, and develop effective solutions

  • Proficiency in budgeting, compensation analysis, and performance management

  • Professional judgment, discretion, and the ability to build trust across all levels of the organization


Physical & Work Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and perform light physical activity throughout the workday

  • Ability to lift up to 10 pounds regularly and 25 pounds occasionally

  • Primarily office-based environment with minimal noise

  • Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
