Housekeeping Assistant

As a Housekeeping Assistant at Perry County Memorial Hospital in Tell City, Indiana, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of patient rooms, offices, and public areas. Your primary responsibilities will include routine cleaning, disinfecting, waste removal, and restocking supplies to meet hospital standards. This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, follows directions well, and can adapt to a variety of cleaning needs and work conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning of patient rooms, restrooms, hallways, and clinical areas.

• Sanitize surfaces, change linens, and remove waste in accordance with hospital protocols.

• Follow infection control procedures and use appropriate cleaning agents and equipment.

• Restock housekeeping supplies and maintain proper storage of cleaning materials.

• Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to appropriate departments.

• Follow written and oral instructions with attention to detail and care.

• Maintain flexibility and initiative to support special cleaning assignments and schedule adjustments as needed.

Qualifications
We’re looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

• One to three months of related experience and/or training is preferred.

• Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions.

• Physical ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs and perform manual tasks for extended periods.

• Manual dexterity, normal vision, and hearing (corrected, if necessary).

• Ability to work under varying conditions, including irregular hours on occasion.
