Geri – Psych Therapist

As a Geri-Psych Therapist at Perry County Memorial Hospital in Tell City, Indiana, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality behavioral health services to older adults. Your primary focus will be conducting therapy sessions, supporting treatment planning, and collaborating with healthcare teams to promote mental health and emotional wellness among geriatric patients. This PRN position is ideal for a licensed clinician who is passionate about serving the aging population and experienced in clinical counseling in hospital or long-term care settings.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group therapy sessions to geriatric patients.

• Conduct assessments and develop treatment plans tailored to each patient’s needs.

• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and social workers to ensure integrated care.

• Monitor and document patient progress and make treatment adjustments as needed.

• Support crisis intervention and resource coordination when necessary.

• Maintain compliance with hospital policies and state licensure standards.

• Use safe practices and body mechanics when assisting or transferring patients.

Qualifications
We’re looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:

• Master’s degree in counseling or behavioral science from an accredited graduate school.

• Current licensure as an LCSW, LCPC, or LPC.

• Current certification in BLS/CPR.

• 2–3 years of clinical experience working with older adults; hospital or nursing home experience preferred.

• Strong clinical judgment, emotional intelligence, and communication skills.

• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-centered care environment.
