The Facilities Maintenance Helper plays a key part in ensuring a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment across Parker Aerospace’s Troy campus. In this hands-on role, you’ll work alongside maintenance staff to perform daily facility upkeep, basic repairs, and grounds maintenance. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys physical, varied work and wants to build skills in maintenance, facilities operations, or skilled trades.
This position is a day-shift role, Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM, with voluntary overtime opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Daily Facility Maintenance

Perform routine cleaning and waste removal throughout the shop floor and facility

Clean walls, flooring, equipment, and support ongoing 5S/housekeeping standards

Monitor building premises to help ensure occupant and visitor safety, including snow/ice removal
Repairs & Building Support

Assist Maintenance Technicians with daily maintenance needs

Complete minor carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing, and general repair tasks

Maintain equipment and facility systems to support proper function
Groundskeeping

Perform lawn care, landscaping, and exterior upkeep as needed
Safety & Compliance

Maintain a safe work environment through proper use of PPE and safety procedures

Support Facilities team members on special projects or daily upkeep

Follow written and verbal instructions with accuracy and attention to detail
Qualifications
Education & Experience
-
High school diploma or GED required
-
1 year of experience in a manufacturing, maintenance, or facilities-related role preferred
Skills & Abilities
-
Ability to follow instructions and work independently
-
Capable of operating standard cleaning and maintenance equipment
-
Strong time-management and organizational skills
-
Ability to multitask and prioritize daily duties

Must hold a valid driver’s license

Willingness to work varying hours as needed (including occasional holidays or weekends)
Physical Requirements

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly

Frequent walking, standing, bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling

Ability to perform repetitive manual tasks with accuracy and endurance

Ability to wear required PPE throughout the shift
