About the Role
As an ER Staff Nurse, you will play a vital role in delivering timely, efficient, and compassionate care to patients experiencing emergent medical conditions. You will work collaboratively with physicians and clinical staff to assess, treat, and monitor patients while exercising sound clinical judgment in high-pressure situations.
Key Responsibilities

Provide direct nursing care to emergency department patients

Perform patient assessments and prioritize care based on acuity

Monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and patient responses to treatment

Interpret ECG rhythm strips accurately

Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and hospital protocols

Respond effectively and resourcefully in emergency situations

Maintain accurate and timely documentation

Use proper body mechanics when lifting or transferring patients

Uphold patient safety, confidentiality, and quality standards
Qualifications
Education
-
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Licensure & Certifications
-
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Indiana

Current BLS/CPR certification
-
Competency in ECG rhythm strip interpretation
-
ACLS and PALS certification (or ability to obtain within one year of hire)
Experience

Previous experience not required

Strong attention to detail and independent decision-making skills

Ability to remain alert, focused, and effective under stressful conditions

Physical stamina to stand, walk, lift, and perform patient care duties

Moderate walking and periods of physical exertion required

Ability to work effectively in both seated and standing positions
