EMT – B

As a PRN EMT-B at Perry County Memorial Hospital in Tell City, Indiana, you’ll provide essential emergency medical services during transport and on-site response situations. This flexible, part-time role supports our EMS team and ensures the delivery of timely, competent care to patients in need. You will work under dynamic conditions, often in high-stakes situations, requiring clear judgment, skill, and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide emergency medical care and transport to patients in accordance with state EMT protocols.

• Assess patient conditions and determine appropriate emergency treatment.

• Operate emergency vehicles safely and maintain equipment readiness.

• Work closely with paramedics, nurses, physicians, and hospital staff during patient handoffs.

• Document care provided and complete accurate, timely patient care reports.

• Remain current on best practices and required certifications through continuing education.

• Demonstrate sound judgment and adaptability during high-pressure emergencies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Completion of an accredited EMT training program.

• Current certification as an EMT in the State of Indiana.

• Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification (CPR).

• Preferred: Prior EMS experience.

• Must complete a minimum 80-hour preceptorship program (or longer, if needed).

• Ability to lift and transfer patients and equipment using proper body mechanics.

• Strong decision-making skills and the ability to stay calm in emergency settings.
