About the Role
The Donation Attendant plays a key role in Goodwill’s mission by supporting day-to-day, mission-integrated store operations. This position is responsible for greeting donors, accepting and processing donated merchandise, and ensuring donations are handled efficiently and in accordance with Goodwill policies.
Under the direction of the Store Manager, the Donation Attendant is part of the Donated Goods Retail Operations team and may assist with training team members, clients, and volunteers. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with the public, staying active, and contributing to a mission-driven organization.
Key Responsibilities

Greet donors and customers and provide excellent customer service

Accept, sort, and process donated items according to Goodwill guidelines

Maintain accurate donation records and issue donation receipts
-
Meet production standards for sorting, pricing, stocking, and pulling merchandise

Perform basic calculations to track donations and production counts
-
Ensure proper handling of donations, including use of pallet jacks when needed

Load and sort materials in trucks, trailers, stores, or plants as assigned

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe donation and processing area

Perform light janitorial duties as assigned

Assist with location security and maintaining adequate production supplies

Support training of team members as needed

Work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Maintain punctual and dependable attendance

Follow all safety procedures and report injuries immediately

Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
-
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
-
Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
-
Ability to pass skills and knowledge assessment testing
-
Ability to pass a drug test and criminal background check
-
Ability to multitask, make quick decisions, and work efficiently
-
Friendly, positive, and professional demeanor
-
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends
Physical & Work Environment Requirements

Ability to twist, bend, squat, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, push, and pull
-
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds independently
-
Ability to team lift or use equipment for items over 40 pounds
-
Work environment includes indoor settings with occasional exposure to outdoor temperatures
-
Exposure to occupational allergens such as dust, animal hair/dander, perfumes, and mold
-
Moderate noise level
