As a Diesel Technician / Mechanic in our Operations Department, you’ll play a pivotal role in maintaining the safety, reliability, and efficiency of our diesel-powered vehicles and equipment. Your primary focus will be conducting inspections, performing diagnostics, completing repairs, and documenting all maintenance activities to keep our fleet in top condition. This position is ideal for someone with strong mechanical aptitude who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct vehicle inspections and diagnostic tests to identify issues and worn components.

Perform preventative maintenance, component upgrades, and winterization procedures.

Repair, overhaul, adjust, and replace diesel system parts including power trains, brakes, electrical, hydraulics, and emissions systems.

Ensure compliance with federal and state safety and emissions standards.

Maintain accurate service and repair records.

Troubleshoot shop equipment issues and perform routine maintenance on tools and supplies.

Support tire maintenance and replacement as needed.

Stay current on industry standards and best practices by attending trainings and reviewing technical publications.

Take initiative to support evolving maintenance needs and contribute to team success.

Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
We’re looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:

Proven experience in diesel vehicle maintenance and repair.

Familiarity with mechanical inspection tools and diagnostic equipment.

Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.

Ability to lift up to 150 lbs. and perform physical tasks including bending, kneeling, crawling, and prolonged standing.

Strong verbal communication and dependability.

Technical understanding of vehicle systems and safety protocols.
