About the Role

Custodians play a vital role in the day-to-day success of Tell City Jr.-Sr. High School. This position helps create a welcoming, well-maintained environment where students can learn, teachers can teach, and school activities can thrive.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain classrooms, hallways, offices, restrooms, locker rooms, and common areas

• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain floors

• Empty trash and recycling containers

• Clean windows, doors, and high-touch surfaces

• Restock restroom and cleaning supplies

• Assist with room setup for school events and activities

• Perform routine checks and report maintenance or safety concerns

• Safely use cleaning equipment and supplies

• Follow school safety and cleaning procedures

• Support other custodial or facility needs as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

• Custodial or facilities experience is helpful but not required

• Dependable, punctual, and detail-oriented

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Willingness to take pride in maintaining a positive school environment

Physical & Work Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the workday

• Ability to lift up to 40–50 pounds

• Indoor work with occasional outdoor tasks

• Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
