About the Role

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) plays a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care at Perry County Memorial Hospital. Working closely with nurses and clinical staff, the CNA assists with daily patient needs while helping ensure comfort, dignity, and safety for every patient.

This position offers structured orientation through a preceptorship program and is ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment and are passionate about serving their community.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist patients with daily living activities, including mobility, hygiene, and comfort needs

• Support nursing staff with patient care and clinical tasks as directed

• Monitor and report patient needs or changes to nursing staff

• Maintain accurate documentation and follow hospital procedures

• Ensure a clean, safe, and respectful patient care environment

• Use proper body mechanics when lifting, transferring, or assisting patients

• Remain attentive, organized, and adaptable in routine and high-stress situations

Qualifications

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required

Licensure & Certification

• Current Indiana Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required

• Current BLS/CPR certification required

Experience

• Previous nursing assistant and/or clerical experience helpful

• Orientation and training provided through Perry County Memorial Hospital’s preceptorship program

Physical & Mental Requirements

• Ability to stand or sit for extended periods

• Regular walking, bending, kneeling, lifting, and physical exertion required

• Ability to work effectively in stressful or fast-paced environments

• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organization
