About the Role
As a Cashier/Food Service Worker, you’ll support daily food service operations in a healthcare setting by assisting with meal preparation, cashiering, and maintaining clean and organized service areas. This on-call position is ideal for someone looking for flexible hours while still making a meaningful impact in their community.
You’ll work closely with the kitchen team to ensure food is served safely, accurately, and with care.
Key Responsibilities

Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system for cashiering duties

Assist with food preparation, including meats, vegetables, baked goods, desserts, and catering orders

Prepare and maintain coffee and beverage stations

Serve customers in retail and serving line areas

Maintain cash accuracy, receipts, and end-of-shift deposits

Set up serving lines and ensure food temperatures are within required ranges

Stock refrigerators, pantries, and serving areas following FIFO guidelines

Track inventory levels and restock food and supplies as needed

Perform general cleaning duties and remove trash

Record refrigerator and food temperatures daily

Follow all food safety, sanitation, and service standards

Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications

Previous cash handling and/or dishwashing experience preferred

Ability to provide friendly, efficient customer service

Dependable and punctual

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Willingness to work a flexible, on-call schedule
Physical & Work Requirements

Ability to stand and move throughout the shift

Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull kitchen items as needed

Ability to work in a kitchen and healthcare environment
