Cashier/Food Service Worker

About the Role

As a Cashier/Food Service Worker, you’ll support daily food service operations in a healthcare setting by assisting with meal preparation, cashiering, and maintaining clean and organized service areas. This on-call position is ideal for someone looking for flexible hours while still making a meaningful impact in their community.

You’ll work closely with the kitchen team to ensure food is served safely, accurately, and with care.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system for cashiering duties

• Assist with food preparation, including meats, vegetables, baked goods, desserts, and catering orders

• Prepare and maintain coffee and beverage stations

• Serve customers in retail and serving line areas

• Maintain cash accuracy, receipts, and end-of-shift deposits

• Set up serving lines and ensure food temperatures are within required ranges

• Stock refrigerators, pantries, and serving areas following FIFO guidelines

• Track inventory levels and restock food and supplies as needed

• Perform general cleaning duties and remove trash

• Record refrigerator and food temperatures daily

• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and service standards

• Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Previous cash handling and/or dishwashing experience preferred

• Ability to provide friendly, efficient customer service

• Dependable and punctual

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

• Willingness to work a flexible, on-call schedule

Physical & Work Requirements

• Ability to stand and move throughout the shift

• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull kitchen items as needed

• Ability to work in a kitchen and healthcare environment

• Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
