Waupaca Foundry, North America’s leading supplier of iron castings, is hiring a Buyer to support our foundry operations. In this full-time role, you’ll be responsible for purchasing materials, services, and equipment, managing vendor relationships, and supporting production through strategic procurement. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, team-driven environment and brings a strong sense of organization and accountability to every task.
Key Responsibilities
- 
Create, process, and manage purchase orders within SAP. 
- 
Evaluate vendor quotations and negotiate favorable terms based on pricing, performance, and lead time. 
- 
Manage the approval of new materials and regularly review obsolete or slow-moving inventory. 
- 
Collaborate with engineers, management, and suppliers on sourcing, product improvement, and alternative materials. 
- 
Track and follow up on past-due purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery. 
- 
Lead and oversee stockroom operations, including supervision of central supply personnel. 
- 
Support accounting with credit card reconciliation and accounts payable coordination. 
- 
Plan and manage procurement functions, including systems, reporting, and process improvements. 
Qualifications
- 
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or Engineering preferred. 
- 
Experience: 2–4 years of related experience in procurement or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
- 
Technical Skills: - 
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP systems. 
- 
Strong negotiation, communication, and customer service skills. 
- 
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and collaborate cross-functionally. 
- 
Effective organization and time management skills.
