Waupaca Foundry, Inc., North America’s leader in iron castings, is seeking a Buyer to join our team in Tell City, IN. The Buyer is responsible for sourcing and purchasing materials, services, and equipment essential to foundry operations. This role involves managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and aligning procurement strategies with production needs. The Buyer will also oversee stockroom operations while ensuring timely delivery and cost efficiency.


Key Responsibilities

  • Create, process, and manage purchase orders.

  • Evaluate vendor quotations for pricing, performance, and terms.

  • Review and approve new materials for stockroom and monitor obsolete or slow-moving inventory.

  • Collaborate with suppliers on product improvements and alternative supplies.

  • Communicate with engineers, management, and suppliers on procurement needs.

  • Track past-due purchase orders in SAP to ensure timely delivery.

  • Oversee stockroom operations and central supply personnel.

  • Coordinate with accounts payable and reconcile company credit card expenses.

  • Develop and implement procurement reporting systems and procedures.

  • Plan and control procurement activities while ensuring compliance with company standards.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or engineering preferred.

  • 2–4 years of related experience (or equivalent education/work experience).

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP accounting software.

  • Strong negotiation, communication, and customer service skills.

  • Ability to work independently, organize daily tasks, and manage multiple priorities.

  • Flexible schedule for shift and department mobility.
