As an Adjunct Faculty – Basic Electricity at Ivy Tech Community College, you’ll play a vital role in preparing the next generation of trades professionals by teaching hands-on electrical fundamentals. You will be responsible for delivering effective in-person instruction, supporting student success, and maintaining class and grading records in line with College policies. This position is part-time, with instruction delivered Thursdays from 12:00 PM – 4:30 PM, January through May, and is ideal for licensed electricians with industry experience looking to give back and share their expertise.


Key Responsibilities

  • Teach and facilitate learning in Basic Electricity courses in-person at the Tell City campus

  • Provide and follow a course syllabus that aligns with program goals

  • Maintain student records for attendance and grading

  • Be available to students for support outside of scheduled class time

  • Use instructional technology and maintain a diverse, respectful classroom environment

  • Submit requested documentation and information in a timely manner


Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Licensed Electrician

  • 3–5 years of industry experience

  • Able to pass the SACA test

  • Strong working knowledge of current electrical technologies

  • Available to teach in-person at the Tell City, IN campus

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Prior experience teaching in higher education
