As an adjunct faculty member for Basic Electricity at Ivy Tech Tell City, you will play a key role in preparing students for careers in the electrical field. You will create an engaging, supportive learning environment, deliver in-person instruction, and help students master foundational electrical concepts aligned with their career goals.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver in-person instruction for Basic Electricity every Thursday from noon to 4:30 PM (January–May semester)

Provide a syllabus that aligns with course and College requirements

Maintain accurate attendance and grading records as per College policies

Use technology such as PowerPoint and other tools to enhance learning

Be available outside class time to support student success

Collaborate with program coordinators to address student needs

Foster an inclusive classroom that values diversity and respect
Qualifications
-
Licensed electrician with 3–5 years of industry experience

Ability to pass the SACA (Smart Automation Certification Alliance) test

Strong knowledge of current technologies related to the electrical field

Must be able to provide in-person instruction at the Tell City campus
Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree

Prior teaching experience in higher education
