Basic Electricity Instructor

As an adjunct faculty member for Basic Electricity at Ivy Tech Tell City, you will play a key role in preparing students for careers in the electrical field. You will create an engaging, supportive learning environment, deliver in-person instruction, and help students master foundational electrical concepts aligned with their career goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver in-person instruction for Basic Electricity every Thursday from noon to 4:30 PM (January–May semester)

• Provide a syllabus that aligns with course and College requirements

• Maintain accurate attendance and grading records as per College policies

• Use technology such as PowerPoint and other tools to enhance learning

• Be available outside class time to support student success

• Collaborate with program coordinators to address student needs

• Foster an inclusive classroom that values diversity and respect

Qualifications

• Licensed electrician with 3–5 years of industry experience

• Ability to pass the SACA (Smart Automation Certification Alliance) test

• Strong knowledge of current technologies related to the electrical field

• Must be able to provide in-person instruction at the Tell City campus

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree

• Prior teaching experience in higher education
