Assistant Manager

Evansville Goodwill is seeking an enthusiastic and organized Assistant Manager to join our Donated Goods Retail team in Tell City, IN. In this full-time role, you’ll work closely with the Store Manager to ensure smooth daily operations, maximize revenue, and foster a positive, mission-driven workplace. This position offers the opportunity to lead, mentor, and make a difference—both for your team and the community we serve.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in managing daily store operations, including scheduling, cash handling, audits, and supply ordering.

• Supervise, train, and develop team members to ensure excellent customer and donor experiences.

• Oversee product flow, including sorting, pricing, stocking, and ensuring merchandise rotation.

• Maintain store standards for branding, safety, security, and cleanliness.

• Track and report key performance indicators (sales, donor counts, payroll, deposits).

• Participate in community engagement events and support Goodwill initiatives.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with diverse teams and customers.

• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office proficiency preferred).

• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

• Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.

• Physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs; team lift or equipment assist for heavier items.
