Website Purdue Extension
As a Summer Intern with Purdue Extension – Perry County, you’ll assist professionals in the areas of Health and Human Sciences (HHS), 4-H Youth Development, and Agriculture and Natural Resources. This position offers a dynamic work environment, perfect for those passionate about education, community engagement, and program coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Extension professionals in program areas, including HHS, 4-H, and Agriculture and Natural Resources.
- Conduct educational programs for youth (K-12), including support for the 4-H Fair.
- Develop and share marketing materials to promote Extension programs.
- Manage social media accounts for community outreach and program visibility.
- Work flexible hours, including Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, with occasional nights and weekends during the county fair season.
Qualifications
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
- Familiarity with social media platforms and content creation is a plus.
- Passion for youth education, community development, and agriculture.
Compensation and Schedule
- Pay: Starting at $14.23/hour.
- Schedule: Primarily Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, with flexibility during the county fair season.
