As a Respiratory Care Practitioner, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality respiratory therapy services to patients in need. This position requires strong clinical skills, the ability to perform under pressure, and a commitment to ensuring patient safety and comfort. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, capable of making critical care decisions, and physically able to assist with patient transfers and respiratory equipment management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer respiratory treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Monitor and assess patient responses to therapy and adjust care plans accordingly.
- Accurately identify patients and administer medications following proper protocols.
- Maintain and operate respiratory therapy equipment, ensuring optimal function.
- Assist in emergency situations, providing life-sustaining respiratory care when needed.
- Educate patients and families on respiratory care management.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Education: Graduate of an accredited school of respiratory services.
- Licensure/Certification:
- Must be licensed to practice as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in Indiana.
- Must hold a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification.
- Must be current in BLS/CPR certification.
- Experience:
- Experience preferred but not required; training provided for qualified candidates.
- Physical & Mental Requirements:
- Strong attention to detail to ensure precise patient identification and medication administration.
- Ability to make critical decisions in high-pressure, life-and-death situations.
- Frequent physical activity, including standing, walking, kneeling, crouching, bending, and positioning patients for therapy.
- Ability to push, move, and lift respiratory therapy equipment as needed.
- Must be capable of transferring patients independently or with assistance.
