As a Respiratory Care Practitioner, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality respiratory therapy services to patients in need. This position requires strong clinical skills, the ability to perform under pressure, and a commitment to ensuring patient safety and comfort. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, capable of making critical care decisions, and physically able to assist with patient transfers and respiratory equipment management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer respiratory treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  • Monitor and assess patient responses to therapy and adjust care plans accordingly.
  • Accurately identify patients and administer medications following proper protocols.
  • Maintain and operate respiratory therapy equipment, ensuring optimal function.
  • Assist in emergency situations, providing life-sustaining respiratory care when needed.
  • Educate patients and families on respiratory care management.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited school of respiratory services.
  • Licensure/Certification:
    • Must be licensed to practice as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in Indiana.
    • Must hold a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification.
    • Must be current in BLS/CPR certification.
  • Experience:
    • Experience preferred but not required; training provided for qualified candidates.
  • Physical & Mental Requirements:
    • Strong attention to detail to ensure precise patient identification and medication administration.
    • Ability to make critical decisions in high-pressure, life-and-death situations.
    • Frequent physical activity, including standing, walking, kneeling, crouching, bending, and positioning patients for therapy.
    • Ability to push, move, and lift respiratory therapy equipment as needed.
    • Must be capable of transferring patients independently or with assistance.
