Rehab Medical Receptionist

About the Role

The Rehab Medical Receptionist supports the Rehabilitation Department by serving as a key point of contact for patients, therapists, and clinical staff. This position helps ensure smooth daily operations through accurate scheduling, effective communication, and strong attention to detail.

This role is ideal for someone who is organized, patient-focused, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary reception and administrative contact for the rehabilitation department

• Greet and assist patients in a professional and courteous manner

• Schedule and coordinate rehabilitation appointments

• Accurately enter and maintain patient information and documentation

• Communicate effectively with therapists, clinical staff, and patients

• Maintain attention to detail regarding procedures, positioning, and scheduling accuracy

• Work independently and make sound decisions when needed

• Assist with transporting patients and moving equipment as required

• Navigate safely in close quarters around rehabilitation equipment

• Follow hospital policies, safety procedures, and patient privacy standards

Qualifications

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required

Licensure & Certification

• Current BLS certification required

Experience

• Medical office or healthcare experience preferred

Physical & Mental Requirements

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Ability to work independently and make quick decisions

• Ability to lift and assist with transporting patients and equipment

• Frequent standing, sitting, stooping, bending, and walking

• Ability to maneuver in tight spaces around equipment

• Normal (or corrected) vision and hearing required

• Ability to remain focused in a fast-paced clinical environment
