Radiology Technologist

About the Role

The Radiology Technologist plays a vital role in patient diagnosis and care at Perry County Memorial Hospital. This position is responsible for performing radiologic imaging procedures while maintaining strict attention to detail, patient safety, and image quality.

This role is well suited for individuals who are detail-oriented, able to work independently, and comfortable assisting patients through imaging procedures in a clinical setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform radiologic imaging procedures according to established protocols

• Ensure accurate patient positioning, technique, and use of contrast media when applicable

• Monitor patients for contrast media side effects and respond appropriately

• Maintain high standards of image quality and patient safety

• Operate and maneuver mobile X-ray equipment as needed

• Lift, transfer, and transport patients safely using proper body mechanics

• Work independently while exercising sound judgment and quick decision-making

• Maintain compliance with all hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements

Qualifications

Education

• Graduate of an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology required

• Associate Degree in Applied Sciences preferred

Licensure & Certification

• ARRT Registered or registry eligible required

• Current CPR certification required

• Must provide and maintain copies of all licensure and certifications, including renewals

Experience

• No prior experience required

Physical & Mental Requirements

• Close attention to detail for procedures, technique, positioning, and image quality

• Ability to work independently and make quick clinical decisions

• Frequent lifting and transporting of patients

• Ability to lift and move items up to approximately 50 pounds

• Ability to maneuver equipment in tight or confined spaces

• Frequent standing, sitting, stooping, and bending

• Normal (or corrected) vision and hearing required for film assessment and communication
