As a Metallurgist at Waupaca Foundry in Tell City, Indiana, you’ll be responsible for overseeing metallurgical processes, ensuring the quality of our products, and resolving metallurgical hold issues. You will act as a key communicator of management’s goals and objectives while enforcing safety policies and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. This position is ideal for a results-driven professional who thrives on technical excellence, teamwork, and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee metallurgical quality of products and resolve related production issues

  • Enforce and promote safety policies and procedures across operations

  • Communicate management’s goals and evolving objectives to team members

  • Lead meetings and presentations to share performance updates and process improvements

  • Develop advanced working knowledge of machinery, equipment, and production operations

  • Support ISO/TS standard adherence and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

  • Exhibit leadership in conflict resolution, teamwork, and positive workforce engagement

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering or Material Science

  • Strong presentation and interpersonal communication skills

  • Leadership abilities with focus on fairness, dependability, ethics, and teamwork

  • Willingness to work across various departments, shifts, and plant locations as needed

  • General knowledge of foundry operations and production processes preferred

  • Effective oral and written communication skills

  • Commitment to learning company safety policies and ISO/TS standards
