As a Manufacturing Engineer II – Specialty in Automation at Parker Meggitt Gas Turbine Fuel Systems, you will support manufacturing innovation and efficiency through the design and implementation of automated processes and equipment. You will play a key role in improving existing production operations and supporting new product assembly, applying lean principles and continuous improvement strategies in a high-tech aerospace environment.

Working under limited supervision, this position supports capital projects, evaluates manufacturing techniques, and ensures compliance with safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and improve manufacturing and automation processes for both new and existing products

  • Identify and implement process improvements focused on efficiency, yield, safety, and cost

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize design specifications for manufacturing

  • Support equipment and tooling needs to meet product and quality goals

  • Investigate and resolve product or process quality issues

  • Ensure compliance with internal and regulatory requirements

  • Contribute to continuous improvement teams and lean manufacturing initiatives

  • Prepare documentation and provide technical guidance across cross-functional teams

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (mechanical, electrical, or related field)

  • 2–5 years of manufacturing engineering experience, with automation experience strongly preferred

  • Hands-on experience with CAD/CAM systems and standard business software (e.g., MS Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Working knowledge of GD&T and ability to interpret complex technical drawings

  • Understanding of lean tools and methodologies (e.g., pull systems, JIT, process mapping)

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
