As the IT Supervisor at Domtar’s Hawesville Mill, you will oversee IT support efforts, manage a team of Field Service Technicians (FSTs), and act as the primary liaison between local operations and Corporate IT. Your focus will be on maintaining seamless IT operations, supporting mill users, and driving IT initiatives in alignment with corporate policies. This role requires a strategic thinker and effective communicator who thrives in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary liaison between mill operations and Corporate IT, building relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
• Oversee and coordinate IT applications, infrastructure projects, and process control upgrades, working with internal teams and external vendors.
• Lead the local IT team to ensure timely resolution of technical issues and uninterrupted service for mill users.
• Support mill IT users with technical analysis related to facility operations and processes.
• Ensure compliance with corporate IT standards, policies, and initiatives.
• Manage incident response, restoring service efficiently while providing analysis and preventive recommendations.
• Coach, mentor, and develop on-site Field Service Technicians (FSTs), fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Collaborate with Site Leadership, Operations, Engineering, and Corporate IT Teams to align IT support with business objectives.
• Plan, budget, and manage IT upgrades and improvements in coordination with Site Leadership.
• Stay updated on technical expertise through training and self-study.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 7 years of IT experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Strong understanding of IT support, including ITIL concepts, Microsoft technologies, Cisco networks, and virtualization technologies.
• General knowledge of manufacturing operations and processes.
• Proven skills in strategic planning, problem-solving, and decision-making.
• Excellent time management and multitasking abilities.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with experience influencing and coaching team members.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with diverse teams across organizational levels and functions.
