As a General Manager at Wendy’s, you will oversee the operations and staff of the restaurant, ensuring objectives are achieved across all areas while adhering to company policies and standards. Key Responsibilities
Sales Goals:
- Manage sales goals against budgets and prior performance.
- Implement national and local marketing programs and new product rollouts.
- Develop and execute strategies to address unfavorable sales trends.
- Promote customer satisfaction to build sales and loyalty.
Cost Management:
- Monitor and manage food, labor, and other controllable expenses to meet profitability goals.
- Ensure proper inventory controls, including tracking waste and monitoring procedures.
- Analyze and communicate profitability performance to the District Manager (DM) and team.
Human Resources:
- Recruit, hire, and train team members using company-approved tools and processes.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to staff.
- Resolve performance issues in compliance with company policies and employment laws.
- Foster a respectful, inclusive workplace that promotes teamwork and retention.
Quality, Service, and Cleanliness:
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards and health regulations.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and operational excellence.
- Address and resolve customer complaints in a timely, professional manner.
Training and Development:
- Conduct thorough orientation and training for new team members.
- Provide ongoing coaching and development to managers and crew.
- Identify high-performing team members for leadership opportunities.
Operations and Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to company policies, including safety and security measures.
- Maintain accurate records, including schedules, payroll, and financial reports.
- Evaluate and implement action plans based on operational feedback and inspections.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, or related field; or equivalent experience.
- 1-2 years of related experience in restaurant or retail management.
- Strong knowledge of operational systems, supervisory practices, and financial analysis.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
- Ability to maintain compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws.
Physical Demands
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform tasks for extended periods.
- Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Perform tasks requiring manual dexterity, such as handling equipment or tools.
Work Environment
- Moderate noise levels in a fast-paced restaurant setting.
- Exposure to heat, cooking oils, and other materials typical of food preparation.
