As the Executive Director of the Perry County CVB, you will play a pivotal role in promoting Perry County’s unique attractions, building relationships with local stakeholders, and driving tourism growth. This position requires a creative and strategic leader committed to enhancing the county’s profile as a destination while managing operational and financial responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Promote Tourism Resources:
- Develop and execute strategies to highlight Perry County’s attractions, accommodations, and tourism enterprises.
Marketing Campaigns:
- Plan, implement, and evaluate innovative marketing initiatives to elevate Perry County as a travel destination.
Community Advocacy:
- Represent the CVB at community events and foster partnerships with local businesses, government entities, and stakeholders.
- Educate the public about Perry County tourism resources and opportunities.
Grant Procurement:
- Identify and secure funding opportunities, including grants, to support and expand tourism initiatives.
Financial Management:
- Oversee budgeting and financial planning to ensure responsible use of funds.
Depot Management:
- Supervise operations at the depot store, ensuring alignment with tourism goals and customer satisfaction.
Travel & Networking:
- Represent Perry County at regional and national tourism events, requiring occasional travel (up to 10%).
Board Management:
- Coordinate and attend all CVB Board meetings, providing progress reports, agendas, minutes, and financial updates.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Proven experience in tourism, marketing, public relations, or a related field.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, hospitality, or a related discipline is preferred.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong leadership and communication skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.
- Expertise in marketing and public relations strategies.
- Proficiency in financial management, including budgeting and reporting.
- Grant writing and procurement experience is a plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively with local businesses, government entities, and community groups.
Compensation
- Salary Range: $55,000 – $65,000 per year, based on experience.
