Environmental Services Technician

About the Role

The Environmental Services Technician supports patient care by ensuring hospital facilities are clean, sanitary, and well-maintained. This position requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to work independently while following established cleaning and safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning and sanitation of hospital rooms, offices, and common areas

• Follow oral and written instructions related to cleaning procedures and safety standards

• Maintain a clean and organized work environment

• Use appropriate cleaning equipment and supplies safely and effectively

• Support infection prevention and control standards

• Work under a variety of conditions, including occasionally strenuous tasks

• Demonstrate flexibility with work assignments and schedules, including irregular hours when needed

Qualifications

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Experience

• One (1) to three (3) months of related experience and/or training preferred

Physical & Mental Requirements

• Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions

• Requires attention to detail, initiative, decision-making, and flexibility

• Regularly lift and/or move up to 15 pounds

• Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

• Requires hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity

• Requires normal vision range and hearing (corrected as needed)

• Ability to work in a variety of conditions, sometimes strenuous
