About the Role

The Engineer II is responsible for new product design and development from initial concept through implementation into production. This role focuses on applying aerospace engineering principles, quality requirements, and best practices to support complex product and system development.

Working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders, the Engineer II develops and recommends solutions to defined engineering requirements, ensuring design objectives are met while supporting continuous improvement in engineering practices.


Key Responsibilities

New Product Design & Lifecycle Leadership

  • Lead aerospace product development programs from concept through the full product lifecycle

  • Apply engineering principles within assigned discipline (mechanical, electrical, chemical, or related)

  • Ensure designs meet aerospace quality, safety, and reliability standards

Engineering Analysis & Design Development

  • Develop detailed product specifications based on performance, customer, and contractual requirements

  • Perform feasibility studies and trade studies using standard analytical methods

  • Investigate design factors including materials, function, performance, cost, efficiency, and interchangeability

Testing, Validation & Documentation

  • Interpret and validate test results to ensure accuracy and conformance to qualification procedures

  • Utilize predictive models and simulations to verify design concepts when required

  • Prepare technical documentation, reports, procedures, and specifications to support design reviews and customer approvals

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Contribute to project milestones including system layouts, schematics, drawings, and interface definitions

  • Review product specifications for clarity, completeness, and compliance

  • Identify design errors or deficiencies and recommend engineering changes and improvements

Knowledge Sharing & Professional Development

  • Maintain technical expertise through training, workshops, and professional engagement

  • Share specialized knowledge with team members and assist in mentoring new engineers

  • Represent the company on engineering projects or technical initiatives as needed


Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or Professional Engineer (PE) certification in an engineering or science discipline

  • Typically requires 2–3 years of related engineering experience

Technical Skills & Knowledge

  • Working knowledge of engineering domain principles, industry practices, regulations, and product functionality

  • Proficiency with engineering design and analysis tools (CAD, modeling, simulation software)

  • Ability to use standard software packages and, when required, specialized engineering applications

Professional Skills

  • Ability to work with general project objectives while exercising sound engineering judgment

  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills to clearly convey technical information and recommendations


Work Environment & Physical Demands

This role primarily involves office-based work with computer use. Occasional standing and walking may be required. The position requires close vision, multitasking capability, regular attendance, and the ability to work professionally with internal teams and external partners.
