We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Early Head Start Teacher to join our team at Head Start Birth-5. This role is responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing education services for infants and toddlers in accordance with Head Start Performance Standards, Indiana Day Care Licensing Regulations, and CACFP Guidelines.
The ideal candidate will have experience in early childhood education and a passion for fostering a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment for young learners. On-the-job training is available to help candidates obtain the required credentials if needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans using research-based curriculum.
- Collaborate with Co-Teacher and Classroom Aide to create a positive learning environment.
- Conduct developmental, behavioral, and sensory screenings within designated timeframes.
- Ensure compliance with Head Start Performance Standards and Indiana Childcare Licensing Regulations.
- Maintain accurate classroom records, assessments, and documentation.
- Foster meaningful relationships with families and caregivers to support child development.
Required Qualifications:
- Childhood Development Associate (CDA) credential (or comparable credential) required.
- Must have training or coursework in early childhood development with a focus on infant/toddler education.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education preferred.
- Experience teaching infants and toddlers is a plus.
- Must pass criminal background checks, sex offender registry checks, drug screening, physical exam, and annual TB test.
