As a Store Assistant Manager, you will play a critical role in the day-to-day operations of a Goodwill retail store, ensuring smooth store functions and an excellent shopping experience for customers and donors. This position works under the Store Manager’s leadership, assisting in staff supervision, scheduling, financial reporting, and inventory management. Beyond retail, this role contributes to Goodwill’s mission by supporting programs that provide job training, digital skills, and high school diploma opportunities for adult learners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and assist with daily store operations, ensuring efficiency and profitability.
  • Train, guide, and develop store team members in alignment with Goodwill’s mission and policies.
  • Manage cash handling, register balancing, financial reports, and safe operations.
  • Maintain an organized and customer-friendly store by managing inventory, stocking, and rotation.
  • Provide exceptional customer and donor service to enhance their experience.
  • Oversee supply orders, branding, store security, and compliance with company standards.
  • Monitor store performance metrics, including sales reports and key performance indicators.
  • Perform janitorial and maintenance tasks as needed to keep the store clean and safe.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Retail or customer service experience preferred.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and operate material-handling equipment.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for occasional site visits.
