One example of these partnerships is the county’s recently installed state-of-the-art fiber optic telecommunication technology. The local business community and the people of Perry County worked closely with both state and national government agencies to bring cutting edge communications within the county’s borders. In addition to communication technology, these partnerships have resulted in an expansion of the municipal airport and improved highway infrastructure throughout the region. Finally, a project will soon be underway expanding the reach of sewage facilities into more rural areas of the county, expanding the area of development opportunities. These, and other activities, make Perry County one of the most accessible and business-friendly communities in the world.
