Economic-development veteran Chris Kinnett joined the Perry County Development Corporation as its president and chief executive officer in June of 2007.
Kinnett has more than 20 years of experience in economic development, including terms at the helm of the Johnson County Development Corp. and the Knox County Development Corp. Kinnett also served as treasurer of the Indiana Economic Development Association, a state-wide organization which strives to promote Indianas economic welfare.
While serving other communities, Kinnett was responsible for the recruitment of domestic and foreign companies to Indiana and for developing innovative programs and partnerships to facilitate economic development activities. He also brings extensive port experience to the position, having served as director of the Indiana Port Commission in Jeffersonville and Mt. Vernon.
As president and CEO of the PCDC, Kinnett works with area businesses to enhance their strengths and opportunities while continuing to work toward recruiting additional businesses to the Perry County community. In addition, he serves as the lead team member on the PCDCs community enhancement efforts, which involve workforce education, residential recruitment and community branding.
